Carnival Las Palmas

The Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will recreate Una noche en Río ( One night in Rio ) throughout its 2019 edition , which will run from February 15 to March 10 . The most multitudinous celebration of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria , declared in March 2017 as a National Tourist Interest Festival.

The “Gran Canaria I Like” Fair offers in the same space, areas of exhibition, presentation, tasting and sale of local products, cooking workshops, gastronomic demonstrations and other parallel and complementary activities. The Fair promotes and enhances the richness and variety of the island in terms of food, gastronomy, sports, crafts, culture, history, landscape and other values.

Tastings, workshops for children, conferences, live cooking, local sports, concerts, folk groups and a sample of artisans are some of the proposals of the upcoming “Feria Gran Canaria Me Gusta”,  held in INFECAR, 17-17 February, in Las palmas.

NEW: “Puerto Música” -festival in Playa de Mogán

A new festival ‘Puerto Música’ held 15-17 February 2019 in the municipality Mogán. A weekend that will fill Playa de Mogán with concerts of different music styles and will feature a vintage market, vintage dance workshops, children’s activities and an exhibition of vintage cars.

The second hand “Rastro” market every Sunday (subject to holidays and special events) where everyone is welcome, and every type of thing is on sale, from objet d’art to furniture, clothing to stereos, telescopes to cellos, militaria, precious stones, previously loved items including toys and books and hats and the occasional kitchen sink.

All the best stuff is snapped up early, but there is always a bargain to be made.

Every second Sunday there is a farmers market too.
