The best women’s tennis is played in Gran Canaria. The women’s professional tennis tournaments, W60 Disa Gran Canaria and W60 Conde Jackson, belonging to the ITF World Tennis Tour, are held from August 9 to 22 in Maspalomas

The Conde Jackson Maspalomas Tennis Club will host from August 9 to 22 the best promises of international women’s professional tennis with the celebration of the W60 Disa Gran Canaria and W60 Conde Jackson Maspalomas tournaments. Gran Canaria is once again at the forefront of world-class women’s tennis events by hosting two professional tournaments of these characteristics with all the security measures required by the current health situation. On this occasion, in addition, taking a qualitative leap by increasing its category to $ 60,000, which means an increase in the WTA points at stake and a higher level in the ranking of the participating players.

Both tournaments will be held on the seven clay courts of the Club Conde Jackson Tennis Maspalomas, at the Campo Internacional, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. Players such as Paula Badosa, current world number 29 or the recent winner of Wimbledon in the junior category, Ane Mintegi Del Olmo have participated in the last editions of the tournaments on the island. With the upgrade, it is expected that the ranking of the players in this edition will be the best that has been seen in the Canary Islands in decades.

This year, the tournaments will feature a luxury godmother, Carla Suárez, from Gran Canaria, who has returned to competition after her fight against cancer. An example of improvement and the best support for women’s tennis. For its part, the Canarian Institute of Equality, co-organizer with the Conde Jackson Sports Club of this event, is committed to giving greater visibility to women in the sports field.

The W60 Disa Gran Canaria will begin on Sunday, August 8 with the matches of the preliminary phase composed of a team of 48 players, who will choose one of the six places that will give them access to the final table of 32 players. On Tuesday 10, the main draw will begin. The doubles final will be held on Saturday the 14th, reserving Sunday the 15th for the singles final.

For its part, W60 Conde Jackson Maspalomas, will start its preliminary phase on Sunday, August 15, with the start of the main draw on Tuesday, August 17. The doubles final will take place on Saturday 21 and the individual final will be played on Sunday 22.
