DESCRIPTION:\nThe traditional festivities of Virgen del Pilar 2023 in Guanarteme, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria between 4-15 October.\nThe festivities program this year includes more than a dozen concerts, as well as the traditional offering and the always irreverent Drag Queen Grand Gala. The proclamation will set the starting point for eleven days of celebrations that will have their big day on October 12 with the celebration of Pilar Day.\nMusic will be one of the protagonists of this edition of the Pilar de Guanarteme festivities. Local artists and groups such as Los Gofiones, Pepe Benavente, Aseres, Armonía Show, Los Coquillos, Los Lolas, Los Salvapantallas, Ni 1 pelo de fool and The Duke`s Band, among others, will perform on the stage in the Plaza de El Pilar to give rhythm to one of the most popular festivals in the capital of Gran Canaria.\nHighlights: \nWednesday 4 October:\nat 20:30 Pregón, the reading of the proclamation at Plaza del Pilar\nThursday 5 October: \nat 18:00 the papagüevos will dance throughout the afternoon through the streets of the neighbourhood to announce the festivities. This event will be followed by (at 19:00),the parade of the groups participating in the XIX Folkloric Festival of the Communities, which this year will have groups representing Italy, France, Portugal and Spain.\nat 20:00 Inauguration of the XIX Folkloric Festival.\nFriday 6 October: \nat 21:00 Election of the Queen of Fiestas del Pilar and Miss Guanarteme 2023 at Plaza del Pilar.\nSaturday 7 October: \nat 20:00 Election of the Child and Junio Queen – Gala, followed by a performance by the band ‘Aseres’-\nSunday 8 October: \nat 12:00 Foam Party\nat 14:30 Day time party with orhestra ‘Star Music’\nat 20:30 Election of the Lady and Grand Lady of El Pilar 2023.\nWednesday 11 October:\nat 20:00 the traditional Romería offering to Our Lady of Pilar, which will feature a performance by Los Gofiones. The party will continue with the concert by the group Karma and, at midnight, the fireworks in honour of the Virgin will illuminate the sky of Las Canteras beach, near the Alfredo Kraus auditorium, with light and colour.
