DESCRIPTION:\nGáldar Carnival 2024 will be dedicated to ‘The 80s’ and is held from 2-24 February 2024.\nThe 2024 program has been extended to three weeks, one more than usual. After the successful celebration of Carnival 2023, which was dedicated to ‘The Crazy 60s’, on this occasion the residents of the municipality have chosen, the theme of ‘The 80s’, which surpassed in the survey “Eurovision”, “El Universo”, “Carnivals of the world” and “Las Vegas”.\nPreliminary Carnival program:\nOn Friday, 2 February: the announcing parade at 20:00 through the streets of the town with music bands, comparsas and murgas, which will serve as a preview of the subsequent Proclamation, which will take place at 21:00 in the Cultural Center La Quinta, epicentre once again of the most massive events.\nOn Saturday, 3 February: The Drag Queen Gala at 21:00 followed by mogollón, the first of the Carnival parties.\nOn Wednesday, 7 February: the ‘Movida Galdense’ will continue in La Quinta with the Provincial Carnival Gala for people with disabilities, in which the island’s occupational centres will be present starting at 19:00\nOn Thursday, 8 February: La Quinta will host the School Carnival at 10:00 with the municipality’s schools and the San Isidro Nursery School.\nOn Saturday, 10 February: one of the highlights will arrive with the Carnival Parade starting at 17:00. Thousands of people will gather through the streets of the city centre before the parade party, which will start in La Quinta at 21:00.\nOn Sunday, 11 February: 11:00-22:00 The Family Carnival\nat 12:00 lively and rhythmic carnival street parades in the historic centre\nat 14:00 Cuenta Atrás\nat 16:00 Los Lola\nat 18:00 Los Salvapantallas\nat 20:00 Armonía Show\nOn Tuesday, 13 February: at 16:00 at Plaza de Santiago a Holi powder party with DJs\nFriday 16 February: 17:00-21:00 Children’s carnival with the family\nOn Friday, 23 February: The Night of Chirimurgas at 21:00 in the Plaza de Santiago\nOn Saturday, 24 February: The Day Carnival from 11:00 in La Quinta, the Burial of the Sardine from 21:00 with the usual start from Calle Guaires.
