There are several gorgeous sights to see, like the Mirador de Atalaya at the entrance to the village, as well as the majestic sculpture entitled the ‘Heart of Jesus’, the church of San Matías, the Santiago Aranda house museum, and much more.\nArtenara is not only the smallest (population) municipality on Gran Canaria but it also has the honour of being the highest and the one with the most caves in its territory.\nHighlights:\nFriday 23 February: \nat 18:00 Eucharist\nSaturday 24 February:\nat 17:45 Eucharist\nat 20:00 Carnival “Entierro del Lagarto”, The Burial of the Lizard from the Plaza de San Matías to the La Atalya viewpoint, accompanied by Samba Isleña.\nat 22:00 Carnival Festive Party enlivened by “DMusic”. Here you can enjoy the epic mountain landscapes at the heart of Gran Canaria. The volcanic crater of Caldera de Tejeda overlooks this area, which exists within the municipalities of Artenara, Tejeda, Agaete and Galdar.\n\n \n #gallery-1 {\n margin: auto;\n }\n #gallery-1 .gallery-item {\n float: left;\n margin-top: 10px;\n text-align: center;\n width: 33%;\n }\n #gallery-1 img {\n border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;\n }\n #gallery-1 .gallery-caption {\n margin-left: 0;\n }\n /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n
