DESCRIPTION:\nMore than 50 activities, light shows, music, markets, and a skating rink will liven up Christmas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. One of the main novelties will be the light shows in emblematic places such as Santa Ana, Mesa y Lopez, Triana, and Las Canteras, in addition to the New Year’s celebration in the Plaza de la Música. This Christmas includes other premieres, such as the Christmas market, the funfair, and the ice skating rink that will be inaugurated on December 5 in the Santa Catalina area. This designated spot will also host countless children’s workshops, theatrical performances, and musical events.\nHighlights:\nThursday 28 November: Christmas Lights-on event\n20:00-22:00 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will light up Christmas in the Plaza de Santa Ana at 20:00, just at the moment when Mayor Carolina Darias presses the symbolic lighting of the city, an act that will evoke the atmosphere of New York and invite citizens to discover the magic and brilliance of these holidays in every corner of the city.\nMusic Show “Brilla la Navidad” will be the starting point of the celebration of the holidays.\nThe official lighting ceremony will give a nod to the New York atmosphere through a musical repertoire by the Municipal Symphonic Band together with Blas Cantó.
