From an ice skating rink, magical elves touring the neighbourhoods, and emotional Christmas carol concerts, to Santa Claus’s house, are part of the 2024 Christmas Program of the City Council of Villa de Santa Brígida.\nHighlights: \nThursday 5 December;\n09:30  Traditional Christmas Market at the Occupational Centre on Calle Tenderete.\n18:30  Official switching on of the Christmas lights, with a performance by the CEP Juan del Río Ayala Children’s Choir, in Calle Nueva, and inauguration of the Nativity scene in the Lola Massieu Room.\nFriday, 6 December\n20:00  Gospel concert at Brigida Church by the Powerhouse Gospel Choir, a British choir of enormous international prestige.\n\nFriday 13 December:\n19.30  Recreation of the Living Nativity Scene by the children of Catechism in the Church of Santa Brígida.Ç\n20:30  Concert ‘Per una Notte di Natale ‘, an elegant Baroque gem in the Cultural Center, performed by the Las Palmas Symphony String Orchestra.\nSunday 15 December:\n12:00 Charity Toy Collection in the Plaza de la Iglesia, so that no one is left without presents this Christmas. Livened up by a performance by Navidad Rock.\n\nFrom 16-22 December \n\nSolidarity Barter from the Social Wardrobe on Calle Manuel Hernández Muñoz, 9. The idea is simple but powerful: you can take a garment that you need in exchange for donating non-perishable food products, mainly  milk, sugar and coffee , thus establishing a barter system that benefits everyone.\n\n\nWednesday 18 December:\n18.30 Music School Concert at the Cultural Center.\n20:00 Under the flickering light of the oil lamps, the AFC Sataute Night Watch will parade through the streets of the old town to the sound of Christmas carols.\nThursday 19 December\n20:30 ‘Noel Oratorio’, by the Club Victoria Cantata Choir, at the Church of Santa Brígida. A work of sublime beauty that evokes reflection on the mystery of the Incarnation, and the serenity and mysticism of the Christmas season.\nSanta’s House (December 20-23 )\nSanta Claus returns to his little house in Santa Brígida (on Calle Nueva) to welcome boys and girls who wish to share their dreams and wishes with him.\n\nFriday, 20th: 16:00 to 19:00\nSaturday, 21st: 11.00 to 13.00 and 17.00 to 19.00.\nSunday, 22: 11:00 to 14:00\nMonday, 23rd: 11:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 19:00\n\nIce rink (December 23-30)\nSanta Brígida is preparing to welcome the Christmas holidays with a very special proposal: an ecological ice rink that will be available for the enjoyment of adults and children from December 23 to 30. The facility, located in a tent on Calle Nueva, will be open from:\n\nMornings: From 10:00 to 14:00\nAfternoons: From 16:00 to 20:00\n\nSaturday 28 December\n20:00 New Year’s Concert at the Cultural Centre, by the Santa Brígida Music Band . The repertoire will range from traditional waltzes to marches and other festive pieces for a night of celebration and joy for the whole family.\nSunday 5 January: Cavalcade of the Three Wise Men from the East\n\nTheir Majesties the Three Wise Men of the East will parade through the streets of Santa Brígida in their traditional parade, filling the town with magic and excitement. The Grand Parade will begin at 18:00, departing from the Municipal Senior Citizens Club and following the following route:\n\nMirador de la Villa Street\nGonzalo Medina Street\nRamon y Cajal Street\nNew Street\n\nAt the end, at 19:00, the Three Wise Men will participate in the act of adoration and offering to the Child Jesus in the Church of Santa Brígida. Families can wait for them on the Juan del Río Ayala court enjoying the music of Los Piojillos.
