SUMMARY:Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Christmas Program 2025-26🎄✨
DESCRIPTION:\nThe capital will be transformed for these festivities from November 28 to January 6. The program combines religious observance with bustling shopping and holiday experiences that are especially captivating for children. The city is now bursting with light—natural sunshine and the artificial streams from over three million LEDs that begin to sparkle at dusk, providing the backdrop to an extensive, fun, and versatile cultural program suitable for all ages.\n \n\n\n \n“Sueña la Navidad”\nThe plazas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria “dreams Christmas”\nFive squares will be decorated and will have their own reveal date and lights-on event.\nAlways at 19:00\nWednesday, November 26th: Parque de Lomo Blanco  (next to the football field) Plaza de Lomo Blanco *** due to rain\nThursday, November 27: Parque Sixto Henríquez, Lomo los Frailes\nFriday, November 28: Parque Altavista (next to the Health Centre)\nSaturday, November 29: Parque Juan Pablo II\nSunday, November 30, Plaza de la Feria\n🎄✨Christmas Lights-on event | Plaza de Santa Ana | Thursday 4 December | 20:00-21:30🎄✨\n\n\nLight shows:\nPlaza de Santa Ana. From Thursday to Sunday, the show is repeated at 20:30.\nThe Nativity scenes\nThe Christmas holidays in the capital of Gran Canaria wouldn’t be the same without the beautiful Nativity scenes that attract the gaze and curiosity of thousands of visitors every year. The most celebrated is the Nativity scene in San Telmo Park, at the gates to the Art Nouveau city on the way to the historic centre. The sand sculptures on Las Canteras Beach, Bélen de Arena (15 December – 8 January), created by the top artists in this genre worldwide. Also worth a visit is the themed Nativity scene in the Mata Castle Museum.\nMusic with tradition\nThe Christmas program in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is filled with entertainment and music, including traditional concerts that are extremely popular with the locals. The folk music band Los Gofiones is giving their annual performance on 23 December in Plaza de Santa Ana. The traditional sounds of Los Gofiones with their Gran Canarian style are an essential part of the city’s celebrations at this time of year. Earlier in the month, on 14 December, music played in a more intimate format takes over some of the most famous courtyards in the heart of the old town of Vegueta. It’s one of the standout and most cherished experiences in the program.\n\n \n🔔 🎡 🎁 Market and fun in Santa Catalina\nThe area around the Santa Catalina Park, which is not far from the cruise ship terminal, is hosting a new Christmas market this year featuring a funfair and an ice rink. The area will feature 70 stalls and a food area. The Market will open from 4 December to 5 January and also provide activities targeted at families, including a wide variety of children’s workshops, theatrical performances and concerts.\nOpening hours:\nMonday and Friday  10:00-13:00 and 16:00-21:00\nTuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 16:00-21:00\nSaturday: 11:00-21:00\nSunday: 11:00-18:00\nClosed: 24 and 31 December\nOn December 25th and January 1st, the Christmas Market will remain open during its usual hours from 16:00-21:00.\n\nNew Year’s Eve\nThe city will bid farewell at the large New Year’s Eve party in the square Plaza de la Música at the northern end of Las Canteras Beach. Starting at 22:00 and finishing in the early hours of 05:30. The event will include concerts, fireworks and a chance to eat some traditional churros, which is how the most dedicated partygoers usually end these long nights of celebration.\nThree Kings\nThis is one of the most important dates of this holiday season in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This is the day the Three Wise Men—Melchior, Caspar and Balthasar—arrive in the Gran Canarian capital with their entourage. There is a large parade through the city centre. The magical night when they leave toys in the homes of boys and girls who wait excitedly for them to come.\n\n \n #gallery-1 {\n margin: auto;\n }\n #gallery-1 .gallery-item {\n float: left;\n margin-top: 10px;\n text-align: center;\n width: 50%;\n }\n #gallery-1 img {\n border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;\n }\n #gallery-1 .gallery-caption {\n margin-left: 0;\n }\n /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nCHRISTMAS IN THE NEIGHBOURHOODS:\n\n \n #gallery-2 {\n margin: auto;\n }\n #gallery-2 .gallery-item {\n float: left;\n margin-top: 10px;\n text-align: center;\n width: 33%;\n }\n #gallery-2 img {\n border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;\n }\n #gallery-2 .gallery-caption {\n margin-left: 0;\n }\n /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n
