This unique little population centre San Lorenzo in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is celebrating their Patron Saint festivities between 30 July – 15 August 2022.

San Lorenzo, the lovely little village just about 15 minutes from the capital is a tranquil place that only gets fussy on Sundays with their local farmers market just next to the church. Fiestas de San Lorenzo is most famous for its firework show and the’Fuegos de San Lorenzo’ was declared as a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Canary Islands by the Canarian government in June 2022, Festival of Regional Tourist Interest.

Saturday 30 July: Pregón, opening reclamation at 21:30

Sunday 31 July, Farmers’ and artisan craft market 08:00-13:00. inflatables and workshops for children on the plaza at 12:00. XXIX National folklore festival of Gran Canaria at 21:00

Monday 1 August: raising the flag and chimes at 12:00

Saturday 6 August: Gran Gala Drag Queen at 22:00

Sunday 7 August: Farmers’ and artisan craft market 08:00-13:00. Children’s Gala at 17:00

 

 

 

9-10 August : “Los Fuegos de San Lorenzo” is the most important and famous pyrotechnic spectacle of Gran Canaria that takes place on the night of 9 to 10 August, and brings together around 60,000 people. Hundreds of kilos of gunpowder light up the sky in San Lorenzo for 30 minutes

Tuesday 9 August: concerts by Family Soul Band and Ultima Llave at 21:30 while waiting for the Great burning and firework spectacle in honour of the patron saint that starts at 01:00 on Wednesday morning.

on Wednesday morning, an exhibition cattle fair at 09:00. Church service at 12:00 and at 13:00 the Magna procession. In the Evening, the Grand Gala of San Lorenzo at 21:30.
