ACEBUCHES TRAIL 2023 – Barranco de Soria-Arguineguín

The 8th Acebuches Trail is celebrated on Sunday, 29 October 2023 with more than 600 runners
The neighbourhood groups of Cercados de Espino and the rest of the Barranco de Soria-Arguineguín are dedicated to organising their most social and festive sporting event.

The Acebuches Trail 2023 is now underway. Many runners train on the narrow country roads that wind along the slopes of the Barranco de Soria and Arguineguín. In the streets of the small town of Cercados de Espino there has been a greater daily traffic for two weeks.

The social and sporting event of a festive and popular nature was presented on Tuesday, 24 October 2023 in the square of the old church of Cercados de Espino, the same enclave where the first edition started on November 16, 2014, with 200 runners. Since then the test has not stopped growing. This year about 620 runners have registered.

The start and finish line will be on the football field. At 09:00, the 16-kilometer test begins, with a 1,000-meter drop, and at 10:00, the 7-kilometer test with a 500-meter drop. It is estimated that more than 500 athletes will start in the two races and that just over 100 children will participate in the initiation tests planned between the two longest distances. The Trail is expected to take place “with spectacular weather,” and the trophy presentation will begin around 12:00.
