Artenara | Fiestas de la Virgen de la Cuevita 2023
The beautiful mountain village of Artenara, at 1500m+ the highest altitude village on Gran Canaria, are celebrating their ‘Feast of the Virgen de la Cuevita’ between 14-27 August 2023.
The Virgen de la Cuevita is the patron saint of folk groups and cyclists in Gran Canaria.
Highlights:
Monday 14 August: at 21:30 Pregón, opening proclamation. at 22:30 music performance by “Son X Tres” and movable disco with DJ Promaster.
Tuesday 15 August: concert by Salvapantallas at the Plaza
Saturday 19 August:
at 10:00 Dog exhibition on the football field by Agility Genyo.
XIV Outdoor Quick Painting Contest in the morning
at 13:00 the arrival of the 58th subida Cicloturista, a cycling event to Artenara, followed by a flower offering to their patroness at the temple atrium. at 19:30 Eucharist, followed by a procession with the image of Virgen de la Cuevita. Friday 25 August: at 21:00 Flower battle through the streets of the village with Banda Isleña and Samba Isleña. at 23:00 a street party with Leyenda Joven and Acuarela.
On Saturday: at 11:00 the big foam party on the football field, aquatic festival and concert by ‘Cuenta Atrás’ .at 16:00 from the fotball field, “Traída de la Rama” with Banda Isleña.
at 17:00 in the park, children’s workshops and bouncy castles. at 23:00 at the plaza street party with Armonia show and Grupo Arena.
