Arucas Carnival 2026

The municipality of Arucas will celebrate Carnival 2026 from February 14th to March 15th. “Heroes, Heroines, Villains, and Villainesses” is the winning theme for the 2026 festivies, chosen by public vote in 2025. The Department of Festivals and Youth has announced a program packed with activities, featuring more than forty events and a few surprises.

The Arucas Carnival will kick off on February 14th with the “Announcement Parade,” the event that marks the start of Carnival in the town centre.

The festivities will then move beyond the town centre of Arucas from March 6th to 7th, passing through the neighborhoods of Trapiche, Tres Barrios, and Bañaderos. Next up is one of the oldest carnivals in the Canary Islands, the historic Cardones Mountain Carnival, which will take place from March 13th to 15th.

The 2026 Carnival program includes more than forty events, among which the Daytime Carnival, the Tomás Pérez González Memorial, and the Third Annual Drag Queen Contest stand out.

Arucas is already preparing to welcome heroes and heroines, epic characters, and adventurers who will inspire the decorations and costumes for the 2026 Carnival. A program full of surprises, music, and workshops awaits, for the enjoyment of all ages.
