Carnival Gáldar 2024
Gáldar Carnival 2024 will be dedicated to ‘The 80s’ and is held from 2-24 February 2024.
The 2024 program has been extended to three weeks, one more than usual. After the successful celebration of Carnival 2023, which was dedicated to ‘The Crazy 60s’, on this occasion the residents of the municipality have chosen, the theme of ‘The 80s’, which surpassed in the survey “Eurovision”, “El Universo”, “Carnivals of the world” and “Las Vegas”.
Carnival program:
On Friday, 2 February: the announcing parade at 20:00 through the streets of the town with music bands, comparsas and murgas, which will serve as a preview of the subsequent Proclamation, which will take place at 21:00 in the Cultural Center La Quinta, epicentre once again of the most massive events.
On Saturday, 3 February: The Drag Queen Gala at 21:00 followed by mogollón, the first of the Carnival parties.
On Wednesday, 7 February: the ‘Movida Galdense’ will continue in La Quinta with the Provincial Carnival Gala for people with disabilities, in which the island’s occupational centres will be present starting at 19:00
On Thursday, 8 February: La Quinta will host the School Carnival at 10:00 with the municipality’s schools and the San Isidro Nursery School.
On Friday, 9 February: the Murgas Meeting will be held starting at 20:30.
On Saturday, 10 February: one of the highlights will arrive with the Great Parade starting at 17:00. Thousands of people will gather through the streets of the city centre before the parade party, which will start in La Quinta at 21:00.
On Sunday, 11 February: The Family Carnival from 11:00 to 22:00 at La Quinta.
On Tuesday, 13 February: Calle Capitán Quesada and Plaza de Santiago will debut in the Carnival with the Children’s Carnival from 17:00.
On Friday, 23 February: The Night of Chirimurgas at 21:00 in the Plaza de Santiago
On Saturday, 24 February: The Day Carnival from 11:00 in La Quinta, the Burial of the Sardine from 21:00 with the usual start from Calle Guaires. Later, the Sardina mogollón party at 23:00 in Plaza de Santiago.
