Christmas program 2023-24 🎄🌟 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Christmas program 2023-24 will feature more than 150 musical, cultural, and leisure activities in the five districts. The capital will celebrate the most magical holidays of the year under the motto ‘A Christmas Story’, in tribute to the 180th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ publication “A Christmas Carol”.

The Christmas lighting of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria this year has a total of 1.5 million lights with low-consumption LED technology that illuminate the streets of the five districts of the city along with more than half a thousand decorations. The use of low-consumption technology, which contributes to sustainability and care for the environment in terms of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, allows energy consumption to be reduced by 77% compared to conventional light sources.

The commercial areas and neighborhoods of the five districts once again have more than 600 decorations that enhance their commercial activity, restaurants and tourism during these dates in the commercial areas of the city and in the neighborhoods, among other points.

A conical fir tree 9 meters high and 4 meters in diameter presides over the Plaza de Santa Ana, which during Christmas dresses up to host the different Christmas events organized by the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council. The structure has 10 snowballs and 252 meters of red and white cord.

The façade of the Town Halls has been dressed with 230 meters of white LED lighting, in addition to 40 light curtains. Added to this are the 15 palm trees in the square that are decorated with LED bulbs that give the historic centre a Christmas atmosphere.
Another of the emblematic points of the city, the Las Canteras promenade, is dressed up with a 14-meter-high tree in the Saulo Torón square that has dynamic lighting. This structure, which is located next to the Arena Bethlehem, provides an iconic image of the city with the celebration of Christmas right on Las Canteras beach.

This year, there was no official Christmas lights-on event by the town hall.
