Festival Agáldar 2024

Taking its name from the prehispanic native name for their ancient Royal Capital, the Agáldar Culture and Tradition Festival returns on Saturday, 26 October 2024, with the best music made from Gáldar and the Canary Islands offering some of the best soloists in our archipelago.

The event is in its twelfth edition and will be held at the La Quinta Cultural Centre from 20:30 onwards, and is organised by the Department of Culture and Festivals.

During the Festival, a documentary will be broadcast on the National Historic Monument of La Guancha, one of the main archaeological assets of the municipality that is celebrating its 75th anniversary. In addition, musical performances will refer to the necropolis, the first discoveries of which were made in the 1930s. It is the first protected archaeological site in the Canary Islands, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1949. An Interpretation Centre is currently being completed on the site.

The Festival will feature performances by the Royal City of Gáldar Music Band, the Farallón de Tábata Folklore Group, the Facaracas Musical Group and the Surco y Arado Cultural and Folklore Group. In addition, soloists Crisol Estévez, Cristino Moreno, Besay Pérez, Ana Gil and Pedro Manuel Afonso will perform.

Recinto Cultural La Quinta at 20:30 with free entry.
