“Agáldar, culture and tradition”, a tribute to the art and history of Gáldar
– The festival, which pays tribute to the culture and people of the northern city, will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 20:30, returning to its original location, the CEIP Antonio Padrón school field.
On Saturday, October 18th, starting at 20:30, the 13th edition of “Agáldar, Culture and Tradition”. This popular Canarian music show brings together the Municipal Music Band of the Royal City of Gáldar on stage each year, along with some of the municipality’s most prominent musical and dance groups and soloists. The show is organised by the Department of Culture and Festivals of the Gáldar City Council.
The 270-square-meter stage at the Antonio Padrón Primary School has the capacity to accommodate 1,000 attendees, who will be able to enjoy the magical fusion of different groups and performers that come together to showcase the art and culture created in Gáldar, its ancestral traditions, and its history as the first capital of Gran Canaria.“
“Revelora” will be the star of the gala’s opening and will also feature in a very special video that will be shown during the show.
What makes this event a unique spectacle is the fact that different groups and singers come together to perform a common repertoire, with the unifying element of the Marching Band, but without any of them losing prominence. An enriching relationship with a spirit of unity that allows each of them to showcase their best.
“Agáldar, Culture and Tradition 2025,” presented by Gáldar journalist Victorio Pérez, will feature around 200 people on stage this time, offering a unique experience: the Municipal Music Band of the Royal City of Gáldar, along with the groups Farallón de Tábata, Facaracas Musical Group, and Surco y Arado Folk Group, along with performers Cielo Zurith, Aridia Ramos, Manuel Estupiñán, and Isabel Díaz Cruz.
Free admission until full capacity is reached.
