Fiestas Castillo del Romeral 2024
The coastal neighbourhood of Castillo del Romeral in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana celebrates its patron saint festivities in honor of St Michael the archangel San Miguel Arcángel and the Virgen del Carmen between 27 September – 6 October 2024.
These festivities, with the collaboration of the Department of Celebrations and Events and organised by the festival committee of the fishing town, promise to offer residents a varied program of popular and religious events, especially after celebrating its first centenary: celebrating a very special milestone: 100 years of festivities in whose organization the residents have worked to create a program for all audiences.
The celebrations will begin on Friday 27 September with a parade, followed by the ‘Banda Isleña’ water festival, which will finally give way to the traditional proclamation ‘with artists from the town’. During the weekend, attendees will be able to enjoy the traditions and customs, with the procession and musical performances by local groups such as the Banda Larga Orchestra. The Sunday will culminate with the Foam Festival and a gala to select the children’s queen.
Among the activities scheduled throughout the week are the dance and sports gala, held on Monday 30th; the petanque domino tournament and the gala for the election of the Junior and Senior Queen, promising a day of entertainment. Wednesday is, without a doubt, the day dedicated to the older members of the family with the election of the Grand Lady of Seniors and performances by Luisito Perera and Pepe Benavente. On Thursday the activities continue with the Birthday of all the children and the Night of the People. The youngest will enjoy a salsa workshop on Friday 4th October at 7:00 pm and the performance of the Grupo Leyenda Joven and the Orquesta Armonía Show.
The festivities will culminate with a weekend full of events that will liven up the neighbourhood. On Saturday 5th, starting at 3:00 pm, there will be a procession and boat ride with a barbecue afterwards, and at night, the main protagonist will be music with a street party full of rhythm. The day will end with a fireworks display that will fill the sky with vibrant colours. Sunday will end with a chocolate breakfast with churros after the Diana Floreada procession with the Banda Isleña through the town, the traditional mass and procession and finally, the performances of the Grupo Que Chimba, Dj Yediel and Pedro Afonso and Juanillo el Canario.
