Fiestas del Carmen – Taliarte, Telde

The annual festivities dedicated to the Virgen del Carmen, which are held at the Taliarte sports, fishing, and scientific harbour in the municipality of Telde, will take place between 19-21 July 2024 and are promoted by the Melenara Fishermen’s Cooperative.

Program:

Friday 19 July:
20:00 Pregón, proclamation by the senator for Gran Canaria and resident of Salinetas, Sergio Ramos. After the opening speech, there will be a live musical performance with songs from the 60s-90s, performed by the artists Rubén Nóbrega and Deye Vega.

Saturday 20 July:
11.00 to 13.00 The 1st Sustainability and Awareness Day for the Care of Our Seas will take place at the Taliarte harbour, sponsored by the company Aquanaria. Information tents, training activities, and music by DJ Roque Valentín.
18:00 The 10th Taliarte Song Festival

Sunday 21 July: Main Day
12:00 mass will be held on the esplanade of the harbour, followed by a land and sea procession of the Virgen del Carmen through the bay of Melenara. Upon her return to the harbour, the patron saint will be welcomed with a fireworks display

15:00 the festive day will continue with the traditional popular barbecue of sardines and mackerel, courtesy of the Fishermen’s Cooperative. The event will include a performance by Cuban musician and showman Yoel Díaz, and ‘Son de la Isla’, and will end with a raffle and the closing of the festivities between 19-19:30
