The El Lasso neighbourhood, in the Vegueta, Cono Sur, and Tafira districts, is celebrating Patron Saint Festivities in honour of the Holy Christ of Mercy and Saint Sara between 11-14 September 2025.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday, 11 September, with a parade accompanied by papagüevos (big paper-mache dolls), which will travel through the streets of the neighbourhood from the Los Granjeros residential area, between Gavilán and Guincho streets, to the side parking lot next to the church.
18:00-18:30 the opening speech by Nina Santana, followed by the traditional procession of the Descent of Christ at 19:00 and at 21:00-220:00 gathering of generations with folk music and a DJ.
On Friday, September 12, the Gala for the Election of the Queen and Mister Infantil will take place in the parking area next to the church at 21:00
On Saturday, September 13, the program will include a “Solajero” (a traditional Spanish folk dance) in the park of the Los Granjeros residential area from 12:00-15:00, a football match between singles and married couples at the Nicolás Sánchez field at 17:00, and, in the evening, a large open-air dance on the esplanade next to the church from 21:00-23:59
Sunday, September 14, will be the main day of the festivities. In the morning, there will be a children’s gathering with bouncy castles and workshops from 10:00-13:00, while in the afternoon, at 19:00 the solemn procession of the Holy Christ of Mercy and Saint Sara will take place, passing through various streets of the neighborhood before returning to the church. The day will culminate with a fireworks display at midnight after the street party and popular karaoke (22:00-23:59)
