Fiestas Jinámar 2025 | Fiestas de la Inmaculada Concepción y la Caña de Azúcar | Telde

The neighbourhood of Jinámar in the municipality of Telde is celebrating festivities in honour of the Immaculate Conception and Sugar Cane, one of the oldest celebrations in Telde and on Gran Canaria.

• The official program of the ‘Fiestas de la Inmaculada Concepción y la Caña de Azúcar‘ will run from November 28 to December 8, with the latter being the main day, marked by the Day of the Immaculate Conception. Religious events, folk performances, cultural exhibitions, traditional fairs and activities for the whole family.
• There is also a small funfair set up in the area.

Friday, 28 November:
20:30-21:15 Pregón, proclamation in the Jinámar Church.
Saturday, 29 November:
19:00 The 7th Pedro Miranda Boxing Gala in the Juan Carlos Hernández Pavilion.
19:30 Gran Chupada – Sugarcane procession | Plaza Jinámar.
This is a joyful event, bringing hundreds of people together in a festive atmosphere steeped in tradition. A few hundred kilos of sugar cane pieces are distributed among attendees, travelling through the main streets in the neighbourhood with lively music, a few honey rum shots and festive spirit. This is followed by a festive party until 01:30. 

Thursday, 4 December
10:00-13:00 Solidarity Pilgrimage organised by the students of the José Tejera Santana school.

Saturday, 6 December:
10:00-14:00 Craft fair organised by FEDAC.
from 10:30 Traditional children’s games, wrestling exhibition, Sheppars’ Leap, stick fighting, tasting of Gofio milk and exhibition of vintage cars.   

Sunday, 7 December:
20:30 The Second Meeting with Cultural and Popular Traditions in Xinámar, featuring musical performances by Los Gofiones and AC Entre Amigos | Plaza de Jinamar.
23:00 Musical performance by Armonía Show.
00:00 A fireworks display show.

Monday, 8 December:
10:00-14:00 Livestock fair behind the main road in Jinámar.
13:00-14:00 Procession of the Virgin along the main road, starting, accompanied by the AF Entre Amigos and the AF Umiaya dance troupe.
