Fiestas La Milagrosa – Cruce de Arinaga, Agüimes

El Cruce de Arinaga is celebrating the festivities in honour of La Milagrosa between 16-29 November 2024 with various religious, recreational, and cultural events with the church and the Primero de Mayo square as the main venues for the activities.

Highlights:
The program will kick off on Saturday 16 November at 18:00 in the church of Cruce de Arinaga with a concert entitled
Echoes of heritage: a meeting between beauty and culture, featuring the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra in commemoration of its 25th anniversary. The event will serve to highlight the wealth of heritage and remember the history of the parish of San José Obrero, a space with great symbolism for its residents.

Later, at 19:30 the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on, which will include a parade of lights along Avenida de Ansite and a musical performance by the group La Trova in the Primero de Mayo square. At the same location, the mayor, Óscar Hernández, will press the switch that will bring light to the decorations installed in the main streets and squares throughout the town.

Music will once again be the star of the festivities on Friday 22nd at 21:00 with a concert by the folkloric group Bejeque. The following day, Saturday 23rd, in the morning, a play park will be set up in the Primero de Mayo square for the enjoyment of the little ones in the house. In the evening, at 22:30 there will be a street party with performances by Mekánica by Tamarindos and Leyenda Joven.

On Sunday 24th eucharist at 11:30, followed by a religious procession with the image of Virgin Milagrosa at 12:30
in the afternoon, the so-called 
1vs1 all style battle will take place, a lively urban dance competition with participants of all ages, and inflatable mats will be set up for children who want to have a fun time. Afterwards, Latin music and dance will be present with a salsa and kizomba workshop.

The Taifa Dance La Milagrosa and the Festival of Traditional Canarian Song will be the grand finale of the festivities on Friday 29th in the afternoon. The folklore groups Texey, Achimencey, Llanos Prietos, Aulaga, the Goretti group from Lourdes and the Escuelita de Ismael group will take part.
