Fiestas Patronales Melenara 2025

The coastal neigbourhood of Melenara in the municipality of Telde is celebrating their patron saint festivities Santo Cura de Ars and Virgen del Carmen between 22-31 August 2025.

This year’s Melenara Festivities will unearth the history of the seafaring ancestors who laid the foundations of what is now the coastal neighbourhood.

Friday 22 August:
17:30 Lovely street parade to announce the start of the festivities
at 21:00 Pregón, opening proclamation
22:00 Performance by Los Salaitos with a show full of humour and transformation
00:00 Concert by the band ‘Aseres’

Saturday 23 August:
18:00 Eucharist, followed by Romería, a pilgrimage offering, leaving from the football field
22:00 Gran Vervena, a lively street party enlivened by ‘Luz de Luna’

Sunday 24 August: 
10:00 Traditional Chinchorro on the beach (recreation of traditional seine fishing with a large net, only allowed during these festivities though)
12:30 Spectacle of traditional fish sellers on the shore of the beach
13:30 Big fish barbecue
15:00 Day-time party with Jony
20:00 Election of the King and Queen Gala
21:00 Music by Mariachi peleón with Yamiley cruz

There will also be a special day for children on Tuesday, August 26th The children’s day will feature water slides, a foam party, and workshops

Friday 29 August: Adult/senior Day
17:30 Traditional sand games
18:30 Merienda
19:30 Performance byPepe Benavente
21:00 Tribute to Rays de Plata, followed by music from the 60′, 70′ and 80′ (recommended to dress accordingly)

Saturday 30 August:
22:00 Concert by ‘La Clave’
00:00 the popular air, water, and land fireworks display show
00:45 the night will conclude with the “Gran Verbena”, lively street party with the Star Music Orchestra 

Sunday 31 August:
16:00 Mass
17:00/18:00 Land and maritime procession
21:00 Scala-hifi gala of married women (well-rehearsed karaoke) and performance by singer Cris Giinnattasio.
