Fiestas Patronales San Antonio de Padua 2023 – Arucas

The Patron Saint festivities for John the Baptist in the municipality of Arucas between 2-25 June 2022.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Friday 2 June: Pregón, Reading of the Proclamation at 20:00 at Plaza de San Juan, followed by a concert by Nuria Fergó. 

10-11 June: Km.0 Gran Canaria Fair between 09:00-15:00 Parque de las Flores

On Sunday, June 11 Corpus Christi, a special religious event celebrated in major towns and villages around the island, many of which will decorate their streets using colourful “carpets” of salt and dyed sawdust, flowers, and by building small altars. Communities have their own traditions when it comes to Corpus Christi. One of the most famous displays will be in Arucas. 

The making of the “carpets” start early in the morning. at 18:30 church service and is followed by a procession. 

On Friday 16 June solemnidad de Corazón de Jesús, eucharist at 18:30 followed by a religious procession.

Saturday 17 June: Romería, pilgrimage offering at 18:00

23-24 June Artisan, Crafts and Traditions Fair Parque de Las Flores 12:00-22:00 

Friday 23 June, Night of San Juan: Concert by Macaco at  21:30 Plaza de San Juan. Fireworks at midnight. music starts at 00:15 on both of the main Plazas.  

Saturday 24 June   Main feast Day at 11:00 eucharist, followed by a procession with the images of Our Lady of the Rosary and San Juan Bautista
