Fiestas San Isidro Labrador 2025 – Sardina del Sur

Sardina del Sur in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana celebrates the San Isidro Labrador festivities from May 10th to 18th. The Sardina Neighbourhood Association, in collaboration with the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council, has prepared an extensive program of festivities that includes a choir gathering, a cooking competition, children’s parties, open-air dances, Primary Sector Days, a performance by Non Trubada, and a pilgrimage.

 

Program:

On Saturday, May 10th
at 7:30 p.m., Pregón, the opening speech for the festivities will be given by Bar Perico, the oldest member of the choir.
at 8:00 p.m., the 29th Choral Gathering will feature performances by the Casa de Cantabria Choir, the Mares de Ingenio Choir, the Arenales District Center Choir, the Arucas Polyphonic Choir, and the Flor de Oroval Polyphonic Choir.
at 9:30 p.m., the Scala Hifi Tu cara me suena will perform.

On Sunday, May 11th
at 11:15 a.m., there will be a Grand Water Party with inflatables and a foam party.
at 7:00 p.m., the inauguration of Juan Francisco Vega Alvarado’s painting exhibition will take place at the Sardina Cultural Center (formerly a chapel).

On Monday, May 12th
there will be a Senior Dance with the group Yeray y Lolino, and a recognition ceremony for Juanita Peña Hernández and Patrocinio Arbelo Alvarado.
On Wednesday, May 14th
at 6:00 p.m., a Cooking Competition is scheduled, with prizes awarded for the best ropa vieja (old clothes).

On Friday, May 16th
at 5 p.m. in the afternoon, there will be a children’s party with inflatables.
at 9:00 p.m., a concert by Non Trubada in the former chapel.

Agricultural Week

On Saturday, May 17th
7 p.m. Romería, the pilgrimage will take place through the town’s streets. Departuring from the parking lot in front of the Policarpo Báez school.

On Sunday, May 18th
9 a.m. morning, there will be a livestock exhibition in the parking for the school
11 a.m. Church service, followed by a religious procession with the image of San Isidro
at 2 p.m., there will be a popular paella.

The program of events also includes the Primary Sector Conference at the old Sardina hermitage on Tuesday, May 13 (dedicated to papaya cultivation), Wednesday, May 14 (presentations on the Canary Island cow), and Thursday, May 15 (Institutional Ceremony in recognition of men and women who worked in the fields).
