
Fiestas San Lorenzo 2025 – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
A wonderful time to visit this unique little population centre of San Lorenzo, in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as they are celebrating their Patron Saint’s festivities between 1-17 August 2025.
San Lorenzo, a lovely little village just about 15 minutes from the capital, is a tranquil place that only gets busy on Sundays with their local farmers market just next to the church. Fiestas de San Lorenzo is most famous for its fireworks show, the ‘Fuegos de San Lorenzo’ declared a Festival of Tourism Interest of the Canary Islands by the Canarian government in June 2022, a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest.

Friday 1 August:
12:00 The events will begin with the traditional raising of the flag of the Patron Saint, accompanied by the ringing of bells. papagüevos street parade with the Guiniguada band.
21:30 Pregón. The town’s “daughter,” Yazmina Pereira, will read the opening speech in the square.
This will be followed by the comedy show “25 Years: Neither Weddings nor Money” by artist Daniel Calero.
Saturday 2 August:
18:30 Romería, pilgrimage leaving from Camino Viejo de San Lorenzo (Casa Pico)
22:00 Canarian night with traditional music by Parranda La Polvajera and festive music by D’Music
Sunday 3 August:
08:00-13:30 Farmers’ market and the IV Muestra de Artesanía Tasate (artisan exhibition) at Mercado Agrícola de San Lorenzo.
12:00 Bouncy castles and workshops
21:30 XV Antonio Market and Lorenzo Suárez Memorial gala with the election of Romero and Romera Mayor, and a music show
Friday 8 August:
21:30 Drag Queen Gala, followed by a festive party “Noche de la Reinona” with Rikmo Bakano and orchestra La Mekánica by Tamarindos
Saturday 9 August:
05:00 Ringing of bells and a firecracker display, in a show of popular fervor fueled by the promise of the residents of El Ebro.
09:00 The Mass dedicated to pilgrims will be celebrated,
21:30 The stage will host concerts by the Muelle Viejo Group and Barco a Venus, a tribute to Mecano, marking the countdown to the most anticipated moment of the festivities.
The Grand Fireworks and Volcano of Voladores will take place in honour of the patron saint, a unique display of light, sound, and emotion, declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in the Canary Islands. This pyrotechnic event, considered one of the most spectacular in the Canary Islands, once again forms the symbolic and sentimental heart of the San Lorenzo Festival.
Sunday 10 August:
01:00 The popular Grand Fireworks Show and Voladores Volcano
From 08:30 The 163rd Livestock Fair and Exhibition near the Health Centre
11:30 The Solemn Religious Service will be held in honour of San Lorenzo – Saint Lawrence, followed by the procession of the Patron Saint starting at 12:45. The image of the saint will travel through the town in procession, accompanied by the La Salle de Agüimes Musical Group. During the procession, the prize-winning livestock will be presented, and the event will culminate with a toast at the San Lorenzo Primary School.
21:30 The Grand San Lorenzo Gala, hosted by journalist Xaila Falcón. The awards for Oldest Mother will be presented to Mrs. Juana Travieso Morales, and Favourite Son to Mr. Juan Lola Suárez Rodríguez. The Municipal Cleaning Service will also be honoured on its 40th anniversary, and the victims of the Valencian National Hurricane Center (DANA) will be remembered with the traditional candle-lighting. The event will conclude with the musical performance “VS Radio” by the group Vocal Siete.
Tuesday 12 August:
19:00 Families will once again enjoy reduced prices on attractions
21:30 The day will conclude with the musical show “Legendarios,” starring Jeremai Cruz and his band
Thursday 14 August:
22:00 The festive atmosphere will continue with Latin Night, featuring a concert by Nia Correia and a performance by the Armonía Show Orchestra. The organisers invite the public to come dressed in white as a symbol of unity and celebration.
Friday 15 August: The feast of the Blessed Virgin of Buen Suceso, co-patron saint of the town
11:30 a tribute will be paid to Our Lady of Buen Suceso, co-patron saint of San Lorenzo, with a religious service
12:00 The traditional procession, accompanied by the San Isidro Labrador de Montaña Cardones Musical Group.
13:00 Foam Party, designed for the enjoyment of children and adults alike.
21:30 In the evening, a ‘Covers Night’ with the groups Tacones Rojos, Salvapantallas, and La Chica de Ayer will bring the musical highlight to the day.
12:00 the 4th Papagüevos Gathering will kick off, featuring traditional figures from Guanarteme, San Isidro de Gáldar, Las Mesas, and the hosts of San Lorenzo, accompanied by the Guayedra Band.
17:30 The Children’s Gala with a performance by Los Musipops.
22:00 The music continues into the evening with a concert by the Sombra del Aguayro Group, followed by a street party at 23:30 with the Leyenda Joven group.Sunday 17 August:
08:00-13:30 the last day of the official program, the traditional farmers’ market, with a folklore performance at 11:30
14:00 there will be a lively Verbena del Solajero, with performances by the groups Yony y Aya and Géminis, and a final fireworks display will conclude the celebrations.
