Gastronomic Market “Tejeda, landscape and local produce”

The municipality of Tejeda will host the “Tejeda, paisaje y producto local”,  “Tejeda, Landscape and Local  Product” market on Saturday, 6 September 2025,  as part of the 2025 Festivities of Virgen del Socorro. A special day that unites tradition, flavour, and culture in a unique setting that pays tribute to both its roots and its people.

Driven by the project “Sustainable Rural Development of Municipalities with Less than 10,000 Inhabitants in the Canary Islands,” funded by the Canary Islands Government through the Rural Dynamization Plan, this event seeks to boost local economies, strengthen the promotion of zero-km products, and improve the training and knowledge of those involved in the primary and artisanal sectors. 

From 11:00-18:00, the day will offer residents and visitors a taste of the best of the summit’s gastronomy: wines, cheeses, and craft beers, alongside reinterpreted traditional dishes such as stewed colinos (a type of stew) and classic almond sweets, as well as tastings, samplings, and culinary demonstrations celebrating the richness of local produce.

The day also marks the most emotional events of the festivities, coinciding with the solemn raising of the flag of the Virgin of Socorro, a moment filled with fervor.

Tejeda thus becomes a meeting point for devotion, identity, and flavor. A celebration that goes beyond the festive and that embraces the future through the most authentic aspects of its land.
