Gran Canaria PRO-AM 2023 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
The best Paddle Surf riders in the world will meet at Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 21-28 November 2023
Las Canteras beach, specifically La Cícer and El Lloret, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, will be the scene of the Gran Canaria PRO-AM 2023 competition that seeks to crown six world champions among the 60 participants from 18 different countries, who will ride the waves of our bay in the modalities of SUP Surfing Open, SUP Surfing Junior and SUP Longboard from the APP World Tour.
The Gran Canaria Pro-Am will feature both regular SUP and longboard SUP formats for both Men and Women, together with Youth Championships. The event has a dual-venue approach that allows for ideal conditions for qualifier rounds and youth competition, as well as the longboard SUP component of the event at La Cicer, culminating in the main event at El Lloret, a World class point break where we have seen World Class conditions bless the Gran Canaria SUP Open year after year. The two venues are just a few hundred metres apart, and are found at the west end of the Las Canteras waterfront (Alfredo Kraus end).
This is the sixth edition of the Paddle Surf World Championship, the fourth to be held on Las Canteras Beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The island of Gran Canaria was established as the venue for one of the circuit events of the Association of Paddle Surf Professionals (APP) in 2018. The APP currently has eight venues, which host some of the different modalities of the competition.
