Telde’s ‘Heart with Paws’ Animal Welfare Day

San Juan Urban Park will host ‘Hearts with Paws’, ‘Corazones con patas’, on Sunday, November 16, from 10:00 to 14:00. This major event for animal welfare in Telde is for the whole family—including four-legged members—and is designed to promote responsible pet ownership, adoption, and education on animal welfare.

The day will feature several themed areas and continuous activities. There will be 17 stands: the Department of Animal Welfare and Gesplan, with information on shelter management, adoption, and volunteering; the Local Police, with the Unidron Drone Unit, giving drone demonstrations; Seprona, providing information on legislation regarding animal ownership and the handling of complaints; the 16th Canary Islands Brigade of the Spanish Army, with a canine demonstration; Arycan, offering a workshop on how to properly manage feline colonies; My Life Companion (dog trainer), with a workshop on pet behavior and how to help them; and the Canary Islands Search and Rescue Dog Group, showcasing the important work of dogs trained to search for missing persons. and the animal shelters Jinanimals, Tutela Felina Arucas, El alma de Mina, Adopta un amigo en Gran Canaria, Segunda oportunidad – Adopta un rey, Los peluditos de Tori y Mila, Despensa de alimentos para perros y gatos – Gateando, and Ada Gran Canaria, showcasing the work they do.

In addition, during the event, there will be live demonstrations, an adoption catwalk, a children’s quiz with prizes, a picnic area, two food trucks, games for the little ones, and a very special photo booth to pose with the animals, called “My Companion and I.”
