Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Christmas Lights-on event 🎄✨

The capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will start 2024-25 Christmas program on 28 November with Xmas Lights on event.

“Christmas 2024 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will shine for everyone”, for residents and visitors, and will feature new lighting, which will be switched on on November 28, together with a market and a fun fair in Santa Catalina Park to boost activity and commerce in the city during these dates.

A corridor of Christmas lights will be created from the Isleta-Puerto-Guanarteme district to Vegueta-Cono Sur-Tafira, passing through the Centro district, with light shows in Las Canteras, Mesa y López, Triana, and Vegueta. Spaces that will be decorated with light curtains, trees, Christmas figures, arches, among other elements. All the new lighting will be sustainable, with LED technology, to meet energy-saving criteria and reduce light pollution.

Santa Catalina dresses up for Christmas

The Santa Catalina Park, the Guaguas interchange, and the rear of Miller building, next to the Plaza de Canarias, will become a Christmas landmark with an attractive fun fair that will host 13 attractions, an ice skating rink, a charming Christmas market with 70 wooden stalls, a gastronomic area and another area where different cultural events will be staged. All of this will be dressed up with dozens of nutcrackers that are coming to the capital of Gran Canaria and with sweets that were part of the Carnival. The area will also launch messages of the holidays with four large panels that are part of the municipal inventory: “Smile, Dream, Shine, and Sing” are the slogans rescued for the project.
