Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Christmas program 2024-25 🎄✨

More than 50 activities, light shows, music, markets, and a skating rink will liven up Christmas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. One of the main novelties will be the light shows in emblematic places such as Santa Ana, Mesa y Lopez, Triana, and Las Canteras, in addition to the New Year’s celebration in the Plaza de la Música. This Christmas includes other premieres, such as the Christmas market, the funfair, and the ice skating rink that will be inaugurated on December 5 in the Santa Catalina area. This designated spot will also host countless children’s workshops, theatrical performances, and musical events.

Highlights:

Thursday 28 November: Christmas Lights-on event
20:00-22:00 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will light up Christmas in the Plaza de Santa Ana at 20:00, just at the moment when Mayor Carolina Darias presses the symbolic lighting of the city, an act that will evoke the atmosphere of New York and invite citizens to discover the magic and brilliance of these holidays in every corner of the city.
Music Show “Brilla la Navidad” will be the starting point of the celebration of the holidays.

The official lighting ceremony will give a nod to the New York atmosphere through a musical repertoire by the Municipal Symphonic Band together with Blas Cantó. That night, the magic of the season will be felt through the premiere of the lighting show that will captivate people who come to the area for different days.

Christmas Lights shows: Thursday to Sunday
This is one of the great novelties of the year: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will offer two sessions of light and sound shows in three points of the city: in the aforementioned Plaza de Santa Ana, flanked by six giant angels; in the area around Las Canteras, specifically in La Puntilla; and in Mesa y López, at the height of Plaza de España. They will be from Thursday to Sunday, always at 19:30 and 21:30.

Concerts on different stages, located in Parque San Telmo, Calle San Bernando, and Alameda de Colón.

The festivities will serve as a reunion with classic and deep-rooted events such as the inaugurations of nativity scenes – there will be no shortage of the Nativity Scene in Arena, the Nativity Scene in San Telmo, and the Nativity Scene in the Castillo de Mata Museum, a Nativity Scene inspired by New York in the 1930s and 1940sLos Gofiones Christmas Concert on December 23, in the Plaza de Santa Ana.
