•The streets of Gáldar’s historic centre will once again be filled on Friday, 23 May 2025, with the traditional images offered each year by the Children’s Pilgrimage organised by the Departments of Culture and Education of the Gáldar City Council to commemorate Canary Islands Day.
•Starting at 10:00, the carts, along with groups from the various participating schools, will begin the parade from the Bajada de Las Guayarminas to the Sanctuary of Santiago.
The schoolchildren, along with teachers and families, will perform their prepared performances in front of the Sanctuary of Santiago. Canarian dances, songs, and games will once again take center stage on this day, which seeks to instill the authentic values of this traditional Canarian celebration at an early age.
With this event, the Gáldar City Council continues its commemorative events for Canary Islands Day, which will have its main event on the 30th in the town of Caideros with the celebration of the Wool Festival.
