The Town Hall of La Aldea de San Nicolás is strengthening its cultural identity with the launch of ‘Salseros de La Aldea’, a musical project that celebrates the deep roots of salsa and Latin-Afro-Cuban music in the municipality. This event, promoted by the Municipal Council, seeks to increase the visibility of the cultural heritage created by generations of village musicians and encourage the emergence of new talents. The presentation of the musical repertoire that celebrates the roots of salsa and Latin-Afro-Cuban music will take place on Friday, 22 November at 20:30 in the Plaza de La Alameda.
La Aldea’s connection to salsa and Latin rhythms dates back to decades of cultural exchanges with Latin America, especially Cuba and Venezuela. From the 1950s, with musicians such as Miguel León Martín, to contemporary artists such as José Carlos Cubas, La Aldea has brought its distinctive stamp to this musical genre.
