San Fernando Farmers’ Market
The very popular biweekly Sunday farmers’ Market, ‘Mercado Agrícola de San Fernando‘ from 08:00 – 13:30.
The Maspalomas Farmers’ Market is held in the courtyard of the covered court of the Marcial Franco School, located next to the Maspalomas Municipal Stadium. The choice of this new space is temporary and provisional ( from Sunday, 21 July 2024 forward)
A chance to purchase fresh, locally-grown food and value-added produce directly from growers or producers — an authentic retail experience.
“The San Fernando de Maspalomas Agricultural Market was opened on 3 May 2009 with the aim of promoting the municipality’s primary sector and the viability of small agricultural holdings on the island through the direct sale of their products. It currently has 22 stalls, 9 of which are from the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. Here, farmers and ranchers from all over the island have the opportunity to directly sell their fresh, quality products at competitive prices.
Over the years it has become established as a direct meeting point between producers and consumers, where local products such as flowers, plants, cheeses, honey, breads, pastries, jams, eggs, olives, olive oils, vegetables and seasonal fruits, among others, can be purchased, while at the same time becoming another tourist attraction for visitors to the island.”
