Along with this, the CAAM has invited different local artists to participate with the idea that they contribute their talent to the activities of the SOLTURA Festival. The urban art group CNFSN, composed of Tono Cruz and Felo Monzón, directs on Saturday, May 11, the creation of a large 18-meter-long mural, in the centre of town, with students from the IES of Agaete.

Also on Saturday, in addition to the inaugural parade by ‘2020 Producciones’ and the opening ceremony led by the Minister of Culture of the Gran Canaria Cabildo, Guacimara Medina, three performances will be activated throughout that day in the Huerto de las Flores. Specifically, the work  La Isla  (2002) will be presented, by the Gran Canaria architect, José Miguel Fernández Aceytuno, and the Fine Arts graduate, Isabel Corral, which will be staged by the actress Mónica Lleó; the piece Pan y circo, by the artist Alicia Pardilla, and a danced intervention by Carmen Fumero and Dácil González.

In performing arts, the Profetas del Mueble Bar company will offer intensive and playful theater initiation workshops, in which they will bring their attendees closer to the origins of the tragedy. Profetas del Mueble Bar is the oldest company in the Canary Islands with 43 years of performing activity and national and international recognition.
