The iconic wave of La Guancha, in the municipality of Gáldar, will be the setting for the 2025 Spanish Bodyboarding Championship, from Friday, November 14th to Sunday, November 16th. More than 120 athletes from across the country will compete for national titles in the following categories: Mixed Under-14, Under-18 Women’s and Men’s, Open Women’s and Men’s, Masters, and Drop Knee.
The predicted oceanographic conditions promise waves of exceptional quality, ensuring a high level of technical and visual spectacle, further establishing La Guancha as one of the leading bodyboarding spots in Spain. The championship is organised by Club Boogie and sanctioned by the Spanish Surfing Federation, in collaboration with the Canary Islands Surfing Federation. Although this will be the ninth edition of the event, it is the first time the local club has taken on the organisation, marking a milestone for bodyboarding in Gáldar.
Among the featured participants are true legends of the sport, such as Paco Artiles, Amaury Lavernhe (champion of the last Frontón King), Willy Luján, Hugo Hernández, and Bruno Martín, among other top riders from the national and international scene.
The 2025 Spanish Bodyboarding Championship will be a free event open to the public, who will be able to enjoy not only the best national bodyboarding but also the unique setting of El Agujero, with its natural pool, the La Guancha archaeological site, and the excellent local cuisine.
